Located in LaCenter, The Olive Branch is dedicated to lending a helping hand to neighbors experiencing hard times. They routinely provide essential resources (including clothing, furniture, and emergency assistance) to ensure local families have what they need to thrive.
What's new: They have recently expanded their outreach by launching a dedicated food pantry. You can help by donating items in need.
McCracken County, Kentucky
Arcadia United Methodist Church
A local congregation that actively steps up to address the community's shortage of public storm shelters. Located right across from Paducah Middle School. At times, they open their church basement during active tornado warnings to provide a safe, calm environment for neighbors and their crated pets.
What to know if you go: Visitors must bring an ID, sign in, and supply their own pet carriers and snacks.
This location may not be open during every severe weather event. Please reach out to them before heading out into dangerous weather.
A beloved local restaurant known for true home cooking and a huge heart. They host a completely free community Thanksgiving meal open to anyone in need, and organize an annual Christmas drive providing gifts, toys, and winter essentials to local students.
Guess Anti-Bullying Foundation
An organization dedicated to youth mental wellness, kindness education, and anti-bullying legislation. They provide local schools with community-building tools and spearheaded Paducah’s interactive public kindness murals project.
They have a yearly initiative to make sure people in need have items to stay warm. They have "Scarf In The Park" which is typically held downtown Paducah on Christmas Eve. Scarves, hats, and gloves can usually be found around Dolly McNutt Plaza and are free for those in need.
McCracken County Public Library
A vital community hub that offers way more than books. They host a free public Resource Fair every third Tuesday to connect people with local food, housing, and job programs, and provide a dedicated Community Support Advocate to help neighbors navigate social services.
How to support them: The best way to give back is simply to use them! Go get a library card, attend an event, or utilize their free public computer labs and digital resources to help boost their community funding
Silent Brigade Distillery (Downtown Paducah)
When the 2020 pandemic triggered a massive, nationwide shortage of essential supplies, Silent Brigade immediately halted their normal liquor production. They stepped up for the community by shifting their entire operation to manufacture medical-grade hand sanitizer - providing a critical, locally sourced lifeline for Paducah's first responders, frontline workers, and vulnerable neighbors when they needed it most.

Super Cafe And Ms. Lane Sandwich Shop
